Jewish Camps Spawn a U.S. Playground Hit

move over dodgballChildren in camps and schools across the United States have embraced a fast-paced game called gaga, which is played in a “pit” and resembles dodge ball.

-I grew up on gaga and some might say reached the pinnacle of my athletic career playing it. No court though, we would build a pit out of benches laid on their sides that could easily be made larger or smaller depending on the number of players. We’d play on a patch of grass that would quickly get torn up and one of the challenges of the game was the cloud of dust that would encircle the pit and leave us covered in dirt. Anyway… I love gaga. Awesome that it’s in the NY Times.
